A morning in nature, guided by your child's curiosity
Designed for children aged 3 to 6 years, Eco Saturdays invites families to slow down, observe closely and explore the natural world together. Guided by our educators, children investigate colours, textures, living things and the connections within nature, allowing their questions and discoveries to shape the morning.
*Session conducted in Mandarin.
Every participating child must be accompanied by an adult.
Group sizes are intentionally kept small, allowing our educators to engage meaningfully with each child.
One shared inquiry, explored at an unhurried pace
We gather in a shaded space, meet the educators and consider how we can care for the park as a community.
A thoughtful nature provocation introduces one central question for children and adults to explore throughout the morning.
Children explore alongside their parent or caregiver, with educators nearby to observe, wonder and extend their thinking through thoughtful questions.
Children make their learning visible by drawing, documenting, measuring, sorting or designing in response to their discoveries.
We come together to share our discoveries and leave families with an idea to continue exploring at home.
Reserve your family's spot
Each session is limited to 20 families to support a meaningful experience for every child. Once you have submitted the registration form, we will confirm your place by email.
*Important Note: Eco Saturdays will only proceed if the hourly PM2.5 reading at 7am on the day of the session falls within the Normal band. If the reading falls outside this band, the session will be cancelled to safeguard the health and wellbeing of children, families and staff.
An inquiry to explore together
Every Eco Saturday begins with an inquiry that invites children and adults to observe, wonder and discover together.
Children will have opportunities to:
- Observe trees, plants, insects, birds and other wildlife with magnifying glasses and binoculars.
- Investigate colours, shapes, textures, sounds, patterns and measurement of resources we encounter in nature.
- Draw, document, compare, classify and ask questions.
- Explore habitats, biodiversity and relationships between living things.
- Discover simple concepts related to biomimicry and systems thinking.
- Consider how we can care for Singapore's parks and wildlife.
Children are encouraged to look closely, think deeply, express their ideas and remain curious.
We believe in every child's potential
Inquire · Think · Learn reflects how children learn with us. Our educators observe closely before stepping in, value children’s ideas, and extend their thinking through thoughtful questions, meaningful conversations and carefully chosen materials.
Eco Saturdays brings this inquiry-based approach into the outdoors. It also reflects the philosophy that will shape learning at our new EtonHouse Eco Pre-School.
Instead of moving quickly through a checklist of experiences, children are given the time and space to investigate an idea with depth, curiosity and purpose.
Parents and caregivers are companions in the inquiry. Together with our educators, you observe, wonder and explore alongside your child, supporting every discovery.
Children are free to engage at a pace that feels comfortable to them. Observing quietly is also a meaningful form of participation, and no child is pressured to join in before they are ready.
We encourage children to observe nature with care and curiosity. We look closely, handle gently and leave living things where they belong, taking home new questions, ideas and a deeper appreciation of the natural world.
One inquiry, meaningful at every age
Siblings and friends of different ages can explore alongside one another. During each session, our educators thoughtfully adapt their questions, materials and level of challenge to meet every child at their stage of development and extend their learning in meaningful ways.
