Cultural Immersion Programme
A One-Week Family Journey of Culture and Mandarin Discovery
The Cultural Immersion Programme blends meaningful learning with memorable family experiences. Across the week, children spend three days immersed in lessons, inquiry projects, and daily life on our EtonHouse campus in a full Mandarin environment, interwoven with two days of curated cultural excursions. Families will explore Chengdu together on curated cultural excursions, from iconic heritage sites to up-close panda encounters, guided by educators to ensure each outing is purposeful and developmentally enriching. This approach enables children to learn Mandarin and experience China, while families create lasting shared memories, offering a unique and deeply enriching immersion experience.

Dujiangyan Panda Base
Nestled at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain, the Dujiangyan Panda Base is a world-class conservation and research centre dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and care of giant pandas. Surrounded by lush bamboo forests and tranquil mountain views, it offers families a rare chance to observe pandas up close and learn about their protection. It’s a heartwarming, educational experience that brings children and parents closer to China’s beloved national treasure.
Dujiangyan Irrigation System (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

The programme is designed for children aged 3 to 7 years who are curious about Mandarin language and culture. We welcome children who do not speak Mandarin. The programme will be conducted primarily in Mandarin.
The key difference is in the programme structure and learning environment. The Pure Mandarin Immersion Programme is a fully in-school programme focused on developing Mandarin proficiency through classroom learning and peer interactions while the Cultural Immersion Programme combines on-campus learning with curated cultural excursions in the respective cities, ideal for families who wish to explore the city’s iconic sites while engaging in meaningful language and cultural experiences.
The immersive nature of the programme helps children become more fluent, expressive, and confident in Mandarin, while also learning to adapt to new environments, fostering lasting friendships, and engage with diverse perspectives.
For the Pure Mandarin Immersion Programme, the fee covers the school immersion experience, learning materials, and meals in school.
For Cultural Immersion Programme, the fee covers the school immersion experience, learning materials, meals in school, and the cultural experiences (for the child and 1 accompanying parent only). An additional fee applies for additional parents or children who wish to join the excursions. Limited to 2 additional participants per family.

Yes. Children will be grouped into classes according to age levels. They will interact and learn alongside local EtonHouse students.
Your child’s safety and well-being are our priority. Please notify us at least two weeks prior to the programme’s start to ensure proper arrangements. Late requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
We strongly encourage children to attend all five days of the programme, as each day’s learning builds upon the last to create a continuous and immersive learning experience. Please note that the programme fee is fixed and will not be prorated for any missed days.
For this programme, all 7-year-olds will join the K2 class in our EtonHouse schools. Children will engage in age-appropriate learning experiences and feel comfortable learning alongside their peers.
Participating families will receive a curated digital guide, developed by our educators, featuring recommended accommodations, essential apps, family-friendly restaurants, and must-see attractions, making it easy to enjoy the city to the fullest.
