What Makes EtonHouse Islander Special?

Islander Pre-School is one of our Singapore Pre-Schools* for children from Pre-Nursery to Kindergarten 2 (18 months to six years of age). Located on Sentosa Island overlooking the Sentosa Golf course, the lush and tranquil surroundings are perfect for inspiring young minds. Our beautiful campus has classrooms flooded with natural light, a pond, and even well-loved school pets such as ducklings.

Inquiry-Based Curriculum

Our inquiry-based approach values and respects children as competent, creative and curious individuals. Our educators listen, observe, and plan learning experiences that respond to each child’s needs, interests, and ideas. Whether it is a small-group project, hands-on activity or simply playing outdoors, the curriculum is designed to challenge and extend children’s knowledge and skills throughout the day. Character development is also integrated into every aspect of our curriculum — we lead by example and hope to inculcate values like respect, kindness, and honesty through our daily interactions with the children. 

Qualified and Passionate Teachers

We have created a safe and nurturing atmosphere where warm interactions and secure relationships materialise at Islander Pre-school. The teaching team specialises in Early Childhood Education and Development and continue to engage in continual professional development including curriculum dialogues with other professionals in the field, conferences, workshops as well as pursuing further studies.

Home-School Partnership

We maintain close and open communication with our community of parents. We keep personalised portfolios for each child with detailed observations about his or her development and continually update parents through emails, newsletters and parent-teacher conferences.

Each and every class has their own creative way of getting parents involved once a term—mystery readers, cultural cooking and collaboration on a mini-project, to name a few. Celebrations and festivals are also fantastic opportunities for the school community to get together. Strong Bilingual Programme

Our curriculum places equal emphasis on English and Mandarin — children are exposed to Mandarin on a daily basis from as young as 18 months old so they grow accustomed to thinking and speaking in both languages.

On top of our daily Mandarin inquiry learning experiences, our Mandarin Immersion Programme once a week in the afternoon allows for a deeper exploration of the Chinese Culture including myths and legends, poems, the art of drinking tea and architecture.  

Our Mandarin Curriculum Coordinator has been awarded the Most Outstanding Mother Tongue Language Teacher award by the Ministry of Education in the year 2020.

Pathway to Primary, Secondary and High School

Upon graduation, families can choose to stay within the EtonHouse family. We have four Primary Schools across the island, including our modern EtonHouse Orchard campus that offers a powerful pathway from Primary to High School. EtonHouse Broadrick is another popular campus families choose for their IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).

*EtonHouse Singapore Pre-Schools offer childcare services from 7 am - 7 pm, and follow the academic calendar of January to December. Singaporeans are eligible for government (ECDA) subsidies.
