A nature school in the gardens

Situated in the unique surroundings of Gardens by the Bay, the school is a bastion for learning in nature. The curriculum is designed for children to spend 50% of their time outdoors in the iconic environment of Gardens by the Bay. Apart from curated programmes with the nature education specialists and horticulturists from Gardens by the Bay, the school have several exclusively created area to offer children a unique and innovative outdoor learning experience that is unparalleled in Singapore.

Change agents for the future

The Garden School is committed to being a truly sustainable learning space inculcating active thinking and action in the children to become change agents in their communities. The design and resourcing of the learning spaces is aligned with the school’s sustainability goals of reduced plastic use EtonHouse believes the ‘environment is the third teacher’. It will also include sustainability practices that will reduce waste while increasing harvesting crops. The school collaborates closely with Gardens by the Bay to work on initiatives relating to sustainability and innovation.

Celebrating this principle, the school has communal spaces where observation and learning opportunities abound and all classrooms are organically connected to these spaces. The Supertree Playground, a tribute to the school’s location, offers many opportunities for play and exploration. This school is a learning hub for the wider community through edutainment opportunities in a sustainable garden environment through weekend workshops and nature school programmes.

Outdoor Adventure Park
An active hub for outdoor learning, the open space outside of the Garden School will be transformed into an adventure park. The use of natural materials promotes outdoor play and exploration, where children learn to take calculated risks and develop a range of skills and competencies in the cognitive, physical, and emotional domains. Children get to enjoy an enriching school life where the classroom has no boundaries.
The Supertree Piazza
Central to the school community is the Supertree Playground that all the classrooms will open into. Paying a tribute to its iconic location, the Supertree Playground will offer a wide range of experiences for all the children in the pre-school while inviting exploration and inquiry into its unique structure. A mezzanine deck is incorporated into the playground to house a herb and spice garden as well as a light studio with exiting sensorial experiences.
Nature-inspired Classroom
The design of the learning environment seamlessly connects the indoors to the outdoors, where children immerse in nature in everyday learning. Flooded with natural light and surrounded by tropical greenery, the classrooms area set up using natural wood materials that adopt the essence of the Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. Within the area are innovative and open-ended learning spaces with child-sized furniture and thoughtful placement of materials to extend and challenge children's learning and thinking.
The Enchanted Reading Tree
Tapping on the natural light and the greenery of the surroundings, the tree located outside the Garden School will be transformed into a reading nook. Children will engage in reading and literary experiences in this beautiful and enchanting space that seamlessly connects the indoors and outdoors. Parents can also explore this pace to read with their children and enjoy the garden's greenery. On weekends, the public will have access to this area for their leisure.
