Josephyne Ho has a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education with honours. Jo is a strong believer in life-long learning and subsequently obtained a post-graduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Monash University.

Following an early career in customer service and relations, Jo has taught young children from the nursery to kindergarten levels during her teaching career in EtonHouse. Jo is also drawing on her experience and expertise in early childhood care and education to guide and mentor student teachers who undergo training with EtonHouse Education Centre (EEC).

Jo believes that learning happens easily when the child is actively involved in the learning process – when the learning process is connected to the child’s interests and abilities and when it is hands-on enjoyment!  She makes it her goal to make every child’s education a positive, happy experience and to help develop the confidence necessary to become a risk-taking, problem-solving, life-long learner. Jo was awarded the MCYS Outstanding Leader award for 2011, Singapore’s highest award in the child-care sector, which honours and recognises the contributions of outstanding child-care leaders.

石老师曾听说“养孩子像养花”,作为幼教工作者和母亲,她越来越体会这比喻的妙处。爱、尊重和信任,如同阳光、空气和水,是园丁”育养“幼苗”最重要的元素。当然,要做一个好园丁,还必须认识每株幼苗有什么特性,有的喜湿、有的喜旱,有的要时常修剪,有的可以肆意生长。到了成熟期才发现有的花绚烂,有的果硕实。

不过石老师发现,育养幼儿跟养植物终究是不同的。园丁早已知道她洒下的是什么种子,   但育养生命的我们,是在陪伴孩子成长的过程中,才一点点认识他们美妙的生命特性。比起养植物,她更享受与孩子一同成长的每个瞬间。与他们在一起,真切地感觉每一天都是新的。她期待见证孩子新一天带来的惊喜。
