Aletia is an international citizen and dedicated educator with a lifetime of international experience as well as teaching and leadership experience across Germany, Belgium, South Korea, Singapore, and South Africa. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities (with Honours in Sociology) as well as a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development, and is currently pursuing a Leadership qualification from Harvard University. Growing up as a third-culture kid, she brings a deep understanding of multiculturalism to her professional practice.
As Curriculum Coordinator, Aletia oversees an innovative blended curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, emphasising child-centred, inquiry-based, and conceptual learning. She ensures children reach developmental milestones in all areas, preparing them for future academic success. At EtonHouse, Aletia has contributed to initiatives that have led to awards in sustainability and Reggio Emilia teaching for Claymore. She contributed to the creation of some of the Just Imagine books as well as books for professional development of educators related to pedagogical documentation. Her personal ongoing professional development includes extensive training in the Reggio Emilia approach and conceptual teaching.
Aletia is committed to a holistic educational experience that prioritises safety, academic excellence, inspiration, and effective communication among students, parents, and staff. She advocates for hands-on learning through real materials and experiences, ensuring meaningful engagement with the environment. Gisele brings a rich international perspective to her teaching, having lived in Brazil, Australia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and now Singapore. Her global experiences have deepened her appreciation of cultural diversity and the importance of respect within a multicultural community.

Having taught for more than a decade in various preschool settings, Guoyan comes with a wealth of teaching experience and is well-trained to guide young learners in an inquiry- based learning environment. As a lifelong learner, Guoyan constantly seeks to upskill herself through various educational trainings or courses and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Preschool Education in 2018.
Guoyan loves children and she enjoys working with young learners to develop their interests in various areas. Her previous teaching experience in E-Bridge Pre-School @ Punggol by EtonHouse also allows her to easily connect with the inquiry-based learning philosophy that we offer at EtonHouse International Pre-School Claymore. Guoyan has been working with our younger children for the last 3 academic years at EtonHouse Claymore.
With a keen interest to support children with additional learning needs, Guoyan enrolled in a course for special children education this year.
Outside of work, Guoyan enjoys running. Being a native Chinese, she also enjoys spicy hotpot which she feels is the essence of Chinese cuisine.

Courtney is a certified teacher from Cambridge, Canada, with nearly a decade of experience living and teaching in the vibrant city of Shanghai. She has worked with children from 18 months to Grade 5, with a strong focus on Nursery and Kindergarten.
Through these diverse experiences, she discovered her passion for Early Childhood Education. Courtney has taught in bilingual and multicultural classrooms and has a solid background supporting English language learners and bilingual speakers. These experiences have deepened her belief in the importance of immersive language environments where children feel safe to take risks, explore, and follow their interests.
She believes young children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships. Her teaching is grounded in curiosity, creativity, and responsiveness to each child’s individual needs. Courtney enjoys creating warm, inclusive spaces where children feel respected and empowered to express themselves through their many languages. She is especially passionate about early language development, creative expression, and building strong partnerships with families.

Shuang Zhao is delighted to continue her journey with the Pre-Nursery B team as the Mandarin Teacher for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Her teaching career began in China and has continued in Singapore for the past eleven years, where she has worked in international early childhood settings. This extensive experience has fueled her passion for meaningful, play-based Mandarin language immersion.
Shuang Zhao believes that every child is full of curiosity and potential. She sees her role as a guide—supporting and inspiring children through engaging, multisensory lessons that make language learning a joyful and natural experience. Her classroom is a warm, inclusive space where each child feels safe to explore, express, and grow.
She values the trust families place in educators and is deeply committed to nurturing both the academic and emotional development of every child.

Latisha, originally from Toronto, Canada, completed her undergraduate degree in Commerce in the country’s capital, Ottawa. It was during an exchange program in Shanghai, China, that she discovered her passion for teaching and decided to pursue a career change. After graduating, she taught French at a Canadian international school and Language Arts in Singapore for two years before returning to Canada to obtain her teaching license.
With over six years of diverse international teaching experience, Latisha has worked with students ranging from 2.5 to 12 years old in various settings and multidisciplinary capacities.
Latisha is deeply passionate about harnessing a child’s innate curiosity and their surroundings to foster holistic growth and a deeper understanding of the world. She strives to create inclusive learning environments where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Her classroom is characterised by vibrant energy and enthusiasm, hallmarked with singing, dancing, and open-ended questioning.
Outside of the classroom, Latisha’s curiosity leads her to explore different countries, where she enjoys sampling new cuisines and immersing herself in diverse cultures. She loves the beach and cannot wait to move back to sunny Singapore.

Zhou Jin joins us with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and over 11 years of experience working at EtonHouse. She bases her learning experiences on children’s interests and uses interactive teaching methods such as dance, song, art and craft and dramatic play to build connection to language experiences.
Zhou Jin sees children as capable individuals, playing an active role in their learning and supports their curiosities.
She loves music and reading books during her free time. Zhou Jin curiosities through organic learning opportunities. She respects children’s verbal and non-verbal interactions and uses active listening to build trusting relationships with them.
As she has been teaching in the EtonHouse community, she has a strong connection to our Inquire-Think-Learn Curriculum. She believes that this allows her to build trusting relationships and support learning with sense of belonging fostered amongst the teachers and children each day.

Melia is a Khmer-Singaporean who spent her childhood in Siem Reap, Cambodia before moving to Singapore when she was 10 years old.
She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from the National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC). Prior to starting her career in the early childhood sector, Melia graduated from the National University of Singapore, where she studied Sociology and Southeast Asian Studies. She also completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Theatre) after six years at School of the Arts, Singapore.
Melia hopes to integrate her experiences and passion for the arts, research, and education to create meaningful and engaging experiences for children. She believes that the most powerful kind of learning occurs when things are relevant and useful to the learner. Keeping in mind the complexities of the global challenges we are facing (and will continue to face), she strongly believes that nurturing children’s individual voices, curiosities and empathy is a vital step to tackle them.
Beyond the classroom, Melia is a big fan of powerful storytelling (in all forms!), yoga, cooking and Tiger Balm.

Nicole is from South Africa and has been an Early Years teacher for 11 years. She specialised in Inclusive Education and has a passion for working with neurodiverse children. Nicole believes every child should feel valued, understood, and free to be themselves in a playful, supportive environment.
She enjoys creating hands-on, creative learning experiences that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. Nicole believes strong collaboration between home and school is essential for a child’s growth and wellbeing.
She loves watching children explore the world in their own way and finds joy in helping them grow into confident, capable individuals. For Nicole, seeing children feel safe and celebrated is the most rewarding part of teaching.
Outside the classroom, Nicole enjoys spending time in the garden, relaxing at the beach, or being around animals—something that always brings her peace and happiness.

Originally from China, Shirley moved to Singapore in 2008 and has been working as a Chinese Teacher for close to 15 years. She has taught children of various age groups in both local and international schools, and she joined EtonHouse four years ago.
Shirley takes great pleasure in fostering positive relationships with children, learning, exploring, and improving alongside them. She strongly believes in the importance of respecting children, recognising that respecting their interests and facilitating self-directed play stimulates their curiosity about the world around them. This, in turn, motivates them to engage in and investigate their own learning, ultimately developing their interests.
Outside of her professional life, Shirley enjoys reading and hiking. Since becoming a mother in 2019, exploring the world with her son has become another wonderful experience in her life.

Originally from the UK, Katie moved to Singapore with her family when she was 12 years old. Katie developed an interest in early childhood education as well as the development of young children after helping out in her mum’s classroom at EtonHouse Newton during her school holidays when she was young.
Inspired by her mother, Katie started her career in teaching and has been with EtonHouse for over 20 years, working with children in both EtonHouse Newton and EtonHouse Thomson previously.
Katie believes that young children are competent individuals who are active citizens with rights and contributing members of the school community. As an early years educator, Katie also has a special interest in exploring music and movement, as well as storytelling, speech and drama. She hopes to incorporate all these elements into her teaching.
During her free time, Katie loves engaging with music and playing the drums.

Margarita is originally from Spain and has been living in Ireland for over five years. She holds a degree in Early Years Education and has extensive experience working in nurseries and preschools. Her work with children from diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds has shaped her inclusive and responsive teaching approach.
Margarita is deeply inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which places the child at the centre of their own learning. She views children as competent, curious, and full of potential, and believes in fostering their development that build on their interests. As a Mandarin native speaker, Xinyu (Cindy) started her early childhood career in 2017 in China, Beijing where she taught in an international Kindergarten. She moved to Singapore in 2019 and continued her teaching career where she worked with young children.
Xinyu (Cindy) places great importance on children’s interests and she respects the children’s voices by providing them a safe space to ask questions and participate in decision-making. By being an active listener of children’s voices, she believes that children will be able to develop self-confidence and a sense of belonging where they feel supported to grow and learn. Xinyu (Cindy) sees herself as a ‘researcher’, ‘co-learner’ and ‘facilitator’ in the children’s learning and inquiry process.
Outside of work, Xinyu (Cindy) enjoys cooking, drawing and sports. She especially loves playing sports as it instills self-discipline and helps her keep fit.
Xinyu (Cindy) hopes to build a safe and happy learning space for the children to explore, grow and blossom in with her calming and nurturing personality.

Having been a pre-school educator for the past 7 years, Cynthia worked with young children of different ages from toddlers to Kindergarten 2 levels. As a dedicated and passionate individual, she enjoys working in a team to bring out the best for the children in a close-knitted learning environment. An advocate for learning together with the children, Cynthia believes that her role as an educator is to build experiences together with the children as they embark on their learning through play.

Sylwia was born in Poland and spent several years living in France before calling Singapore home for the past 16 years. Her professional journey began with a Diploma in Art Therapy, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy, which enabled her to work in diverse locations and countries. Recognising the power of art therapy as a non-verbal tool for children to express and understand emotions, she integrated it into her work as a physiotherapist with young children. Using art and play, she fostered connections with young children, and supporting holistic healing through a nurturing environment.
Sylwia’s passion for working with children deepened after becoming a mother herself, leading her to pursue and graduate in early childhood education. She finds immense joy and fulfillment in guiding children, marveling at their boundless energy, creativity, and eagerness to learn. Her approach centers on creating an engaging and supportive atmosphere tailored to each child’s unique needs and learning preferences, believing strongly in learning through play.
Sylwia values the collaboration between parents and educators, viewing it as essential for maximizing each child’s development. She looks forward to a year marked by partnership and shared efforts between home and school. Beyond her professional life, she enjoys hiking, dancing, and has recently discovered a passion for baking. She uses fun and interesting methods to help children explore the Chinese language, creating a safe and lively learning environment. Amber believes that education is not just about teachers sharing knowledge with children but also about teachers being inspired by children’s fresh perspectives.
Outside of work, Amber enjoys traveling to different places and countries, experiencing local cultures. Her favourite hobby is cooking, and she likes to try new recipes.

Zoe is from Liverpool in the United Kingdom which is where she studied education and disability studies and gained her qualified teacher status. She has worked with young children for 11 years and has previously taught in the UK, USA and in Mexico.
Zoe discovered her love for Early Years education 6 years ago when she took on an Early Years role which then grew further into a passion after having her own children. Zoe has studied a leadership in Early Years Education and believes that learning through inquiry are pivotal in developing young children to become inquisitive life-long learners.
Zoe creates a classroom environment that is inclusive to all and nurtures and embraces individuality. She takes pride in building trusting relationships with both the children and their parents/caregivers and believes that school should be an extension of home, creating a nurturing, safe and welcoming environment for all.
Away from the classroom, Zoe loves the outdoors: walking, hiking, finding new foods and spending time with her family. She loves cats and has flown her rescue cat from Mexico around the world with her to live in different countries.

Mary is a native Chinese speaker who grew up and was educated in Singapore. She furthered her studies at Monash University in Australia, where she obtained two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education.
In her previous roles, Mary conducted extensive research and teaching focused on bilingualism (Mandarin and English) among young children in Singapore.
Mary has always been passionate about early childhood education and believes in inquiry-based learning because it develops critical thinking skills and self-belief in children. She also firmly believes that each child is gifted with their own creativity and imagination.
Mary joined EtonHouse Claymore in November 2015 and has successfully helped many young children become capable and confident learners over the years.

Beatriz, or as she likes to be called, Bea, was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. After graduating as an Early Years and Primary Teacher with a specialisation in Speech Therapy, she started her teaching career at an international school in the Netherlands, where she discovered her passion for teaching children with different abilities, backgrounds and cultures.
Beatriz enjoys observing children thinking outside the box and creating cooperative projects to develop their independence and teamwork skills. It is important for her to build a bond with her students; hence she likes exploring and learning about their culture and greeting them in their language.
Beatriz is an educator who facilitates and empowers children to become independent, passionate, engaged learners and most importantly, happy children. She is a patient and caring educator who caters to differentiated learning needs and creates an inspiring and safe environment to unleash children’s imagination.

Liu Lu is a native Mandarin speaker with over 15 years of Early Years teaching experience in both China and Singapore. Her passion for teaching Mandarin encourages her to share and read Mandarin stories to advocate her love for the language. She has also worked with a publication team to publish a book on ancient Chinese poetry for children in 2019, where the book uses graphical illustrations to enhance children’s understanding of Chinese poems.
Liu Lu is also passionate about working with children using inquiry learning approaches inspired by Reggio Emilia learning philosophy. She strongly believes in respecting children as equal beings and helping them to express themselves through various interactive earning experiences.
Liu Lu believes that strong collaboration with the parents will help to build a healthy learning environment and experience for the children to thrive in. She takes pride in tailoring her teaching methods to support each unique child.

Janida enjoys sharing her early experiences growing up on a small island in the Caribbean and how it shaped her educational philosophy. As a child, she had the luxury of exploring through play, using her island as her teacher—a rich tapestry of sights, sounds, and experiences that sparked her natural curiosity. This same sense of wonder and adventure is what she strives to instil in her students every day, believing that learning is an exciting journey of discovery driven by personal interests and authentic experiences. As an educator, Janida is committed to creating a supportive and empowering learning environment where every child feels valued, respected, and challenged to achieve their full potential.

As a native Chinese speaker from Malaysia, Fui Yee has been working with children for over a decade. Before joining EtonHouse, she spent five years as a Mandarin teacher at a kindergarten in Singapore that offered a bilingual programme.
Fui Yee has a true passion for working with young learners and helping each child grow and develop in all areas – academic, social, language, and motor skills. She chose to work with children because it was her childhood dream to be a teacher. She believes that preschool experiences not only aid in children’s learning but also build their confidence and self-reliance. She strongly believes that a positive home-school partnership and open communication with parents are important in her journey of nurturing young minds.
In her free time, Fui Yee enjoys running, reading, shopping, and being out in the sun. Her favourite hobby is walking along the beach and collecting seashells.

Carme is from Spain and got her degree in Valencia, her hometown. In 2011, she spent a year in Reggio Emilia, Italy, to learn more about teaching. There, she realised how important it is to listen to children’s voices. She believes children should be educated in respectful and creative environments where they can develop their abilities.
Carme also worked in a Reggio Emilia-inspired learning community in Manchester, UK. She loves reading and thinks visual arts are a great way to express oneself. Carme believes children are creative, resilient, and critical thinkers who should enjoy their childhood while becoming independent and curious individuals.
She enjoys creating meaningful projects that help children learn and grow. Carme thinks it’s important to talk with parents and include them in their children’s learning at Claymore. She is thankful for the chance to work with different educators, finding it enriching both personally and professionally.
A fun fact about Carme is that she has a wild Siberian cat named Maggie.

Matthew is a dynamic and creative educator who joined the EtonHouse Claymore community in 2022 as a specialist teacher. With a background in teaching the UK National Curriculum in London, he brings a wealth of experience to his role.
Matthew is a creative wizard and IT guru, known for building strong relationships with his class community. He excels at bringing stories to life with different voices and sounds, igniting children’s imaginations and fostering a love for reading.
At the heart of his teaching philosophy, Matthew believes in creating an environment where learning is engaging and fun. As the phonics master, he is dedicated to building confidence in children’s communication, expressiveness, and literacy.
Matthew believes that positive relationships are key to providing the best education. He develops effective relationships with all members of the school community, especially the learners in his care, ensuring they feel welcome and secure while being encouraged to step out of their comfort zones.
As a parent himself, Matthew understands the importance of maintaining a good relationship with the parents of his learners. He communicates with them face-to-face and through regular updates, believing that a respectful and amicable relationship with parents is crucial to a learner’s progress.

Rachel has more than 12 years of teaching experience working with young children. She has been teaching at Claymore for 6 years in various year groups.
Rachel received her childcare qualification in Sydney, Australia and later moved to Malaysia where she worked in an Australian based childcare center that implemented Play and Nature-based Curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach.
While at her previous school, she took on the roles of a supervisor and a toddler’s room leader. She moved to Singapore in 2016 and joined a bilingual immersion preschool as an English core teacher to further extend her career. Rachel enjoys creative experiences and incorporates this into her experiences with the children to enhance their creativity. She believes that every child is an artist and they are able to express their feelings, thoughts and imagination of the world through Arts.
She recognises that every child is different and unique. As an educator, we respect these differences and believe that children are capable of developing and exploring at their own pace. She also believes that children learn through play and that the environment plays an important part in their play explorations.

Bernice joins us as the Physical Education Specialist. With 9 years of prior teaching experience, Bernice has enhanced our early years setting at Claymore with a goal to nurture a positive disposition towards physical education for all children. She believes that physical education builds self-esteem, self-belief and allows children to develop fundamental skills for life. Bernice feels that physical education can expand beyond looking at supporting young children to become skilled or talented at one particular sport later on. Rather, she would like to celebrate and support each child in reaching their own fullest potential as a physical being in the world.
Bernice feels that it is important for children to lead active and healthy lifestyles into adulthood to support their well-being. Bernice plans to forge strong relationships with families and believes in offering home-school connections to make the programme visible. She plans to use the pre-school newsletters to make further suggestions about how families can extend and enhance interests/skills at home.

The Mandarin and English support in Claymore is very strong, which helped Shize adapt to life in Singapore smoothly; both his Mandarin and English improved, and then he fully emerged in Claymore, participating in all kinds of experiences and started to love reading books, drawing pictures and playing sports.
