We are delighted to share that EtonHouse International Education Group have adopted a capybara named Ollie, at Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s Amazonia Encounters.

This meaningful milestone was marked by an adoption ceremony graced by the leadership team of EtonHouse Group, including E-Bridge Pre-School (E-Bridge) and EtonHouse Community Fund (ECF). In attendance were Ng Yi-Xian, Group Chief Executive Officer, Bipasha Minocha, Group Chief Marketing Officer, Hazlina Abdul Halim, Chief Executive Officer of ECF, and Lim Tien Hock, CEO of E-Bridge.

As part of this journey, our children from EtonHouse International Schools and Pre-Schools and E-Bridge Pre-Schools were actively involved in naming our capybara through a voting process, ultimately choosing Ollie. Derived from the Latin word for ‘olive tree’, which symbolises peace, a reflection of the calm and gentle nature of capybaras, as well as the sense of balance and mindfulness we hope to nurture in our children.

This is the second time EtonHouse Group is a proud Mandai Wildlife Adopter. The decision to adopt a capybara was guided by the group’s shared intention to deepen children’s understanding of wellbeing through real-world connections. Known for their calm, gentle and social nature, capybaras embody a sense of balance and mindfulness, offering children a unique lens for exploring emotional regulation, empathy and peaceful coexistence.

Located within Mandai’s immersive Amazonia Encounters habitat, Ollie’s environment provides opportunities for close observation and meaningful engagement with wildlife. This initiative reflects our commitment to experiential learning and immersive experiences that inspire curiosity and ignite a passion for discovery. It also reinforces our dedication to environmental stewardship, encouraging children to develop a sense of responsibility and care for the natural world. These encounters are thoughtfully integrated into our pedagogy, supporting deeper reflection and meaningful learning.
