EtonHouse International Education Group’s Leadership Wellbeing Training with The Contentment Foundation
“We as leaders need to be well for our teams. When our leaders are well, our educators are well and that cascades to our children.”
“We as leaders need to be well for our teams. When our leaders are well, our educators are well and that cascades to our children.”
We officially launched our organisation-wide wellbeing journey with a two-day Leadership Wellbeing Training recently.
The launch began with an opening address from our Group CEO of EtonHouse International Education Group, Mr. Ng Yi-Xian, who emphasised the importance of beginning with educator wellbeing: “the biggest efficacy of mindfulness programmes is the one which intervenes on our teachers, first and foremost, because if the teacher has any kind of practice or belief in wellbeing, the students will pick up on it, and the Contentment Foundation intervenes on our teachers first.”
Evelyn Tay, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore, Bhutan and Group Chief Human Resource Officer of EtonHouse International Education Group, shared her vision of building our personal wellbeing so it can benefit the children- “We as leaders need to be well for our teams. When our leaders are well, our educators are well and that cascades to our children.”
Through our partnership with The Contentment Foundation, and with this work rooted in the Care domain of EtonAspire, we aim to provide a framework that strengthens wellbeing within ourselves and across our community. This journey begins with each of us, starting with our educators and extending to our learners.
The training was facilitated by Tim Huang and Tshering Eudon from The Contentment Foundation. As Tim shared, “We have seen time and again that EtonHouse is a leader in wellbeing, and that tending to the wellbeing of educators and students is at the heart of successful schools. When we feel well, we do well.”
We look forward to deepening and embedding wellbeing practices across our schools.
